The Research Intern I will be an active member of the Research team. Tasks could involve providing support for publications, authoring blog posts, and collecting data. The range of project topics could include, but is not limited to grid modernization, solar, energy storage, electric vehicles, microgrids, and demand response. Projects will be tailored to the intern's specific research interests when possible.

The ideal candidate will have superior Microsoft Office and desk research skills, will be well-organized, and possess excellent research and communication skills. Experience or interest in working in the renewable energy field following graduation and knowledge of the electric utility industry is a plus.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Support development of SEPA resources & publications
  • Assist in analyzing SEPA's annual utility survey data
  • Create presentation materials using SEPA datasets
  • Maintain the Resource Library on SEPA website
  • Assist in responding to research requests for members
  • Conduct data analysis to support Research and/or Utility Programs & Planning projects
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis Other tasks as assigned


  • Applicants must be pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field
  • Experience using the Google platform
